misseable and forgettable

i lead a crazy life. ok, not so crazy, but i am busy with just life itself. i am human. i forget to stay in touch with friends. i am bad that way. i tend to keep in touch with friends further away than the ones who live right here in philly. i do text friends to see what is going on. sometimes i get response. sometimes i dont. sometimes i wonder if my texts go to cyberspace black hole of some sort.

my question is this, dear bloggers, how can people claim to miss you, yet forget to get in touch with you. can one be missed and forgotten at the same time? i think so.

again, we are all guilty of this. but i think we all have to admit, it is nice to be missed by good friends. it is even better when we don't forget why we are good friends.

Great blog.
It seems that the real friends are the ones who care about you and the ones who try to stay in touch with you and don't forget. Real friends will try to stay in touch with you, and if they like talking to you, they won't forget. But we can't be perfect, we're human and we often make mistakes and forget just like everyone else so there is no reason to be sad or mad :) Anyway, your blog is very interesting and we enjoy reading it
:D
x Have a nice day! ^-^

I'm the exact same when it comes to communicating...I've never been one to call all the time, it has to be a reason for me to call a person...more than just missing them. My friends and family get upset with me all of the time for not staying in contact the way I should!! I wish there was something I could do about it but it's just me:)

P.s Nice blog...Take a look at mine when u get a chance! I'm new to this :)

They probably wonder the same thing about you. Nothing stops you from writing them, not really.

btw where on earth are these comics you speak of?

Hey, I just found your blog and it's great :)
I really know what you're talking of. Sometimes I wonder if my friends are really my friends or if they just pretend to be. I think there's only one person in my life where this is not the case cause I'm sure she's a true friend.
Would be nice if you'd check out my blog, it's about books. It's on German, still I would be happy if you had a look at it :)

It seems I'm not the only person to have stumbled upon your blog, but that doesn't make it any less happy a thing. You make a good point here. I, too, find myself telling people I miss them and then not speaking again for years. I think it is a human thing...yes, it must be. Out of sight, out of mind unfortunately seems to apply to people as well as anything else.

My opinion is that when you live far from your friends, then you kind of lose track of what's happening in their life on a daily basis. Maybe you know about the big things happening to them (marriage, new job, etc.) but you are unaware of the small everyday things. That's the saddest thing of all. That's how you lose track of their lives. Because when you ask them what's new, no one wants to explain every little thing that happened to them in the last week, month or even year. It's just too time consuming to do so. :)

Hm... I'm unsure. While it's good to admit that you miss someone, can you really claim to miss them if you're too lazy to keep in touch? Or maybe it's not that you're too lazy; maybe you're busy exercising, or with schoolwork.

That being said, I think that - if you really were going to say that you miss these people - then you have to be actively involved in missing them. I don't appreciate it when my own friends claim to miss me, then do nothing about fixing that problem. IF you really miss your friends, then I suggest that you do something about it; don't just go on and whine about how much you miss them, FIX IT! They're your friends, I highly doubt they'll mind you trying to arrange a meeting or texting them from time to time.

Either way, you have interesting thoughts. Interesting indeed....
